Polyurethane Cleaning Rollers Revolutionise Heavy Carry-Back Conveyor
CPS’s Spiral Cleaning Rollers are manufactured using highly wear-resistant polyurethane spiral rings, providing a more durable and maintenance-free solution to conveyor belt cleaning and tracking.
The Challenge
The client’s plain steel rollers were found to have a shorter life expectancy, degrading fast in areas of high wear typically found in head or tail ends, shuttle and take-up areas, and convex curves.
Not only does this shorter life expectancy affect operations, but it also costs the client more due to the constant need for steel roller maintenance and replacements.
The Solution
CPS’s Polyurethane Spiral Rollers are well-suited where sticky carry-back builds up on the return rollers, causing belt damage and misalignment. These rollers can be installed on any part of the belt and work well in combination with CPS Polyurethane Disc rollers.
Polyurethane Spiral Rollers must be used in conjunction with a primary or secondary belt scraper. Based on CPS R&D testing to ASTM G65 standards, our Polyurethane wear four times slower than a standard steel shell.
CPS Polyurethane Spiral and Disc Return rollers can be expected to yield a minimum life increase in the range of 100 to 300 percent over steel rollers in areas of high wear typically found in head/tail ends, shuttle/take-up areas, and convex curves.
Additionally, CPS Polyurethane Spiral Rollers provide excellent abrasion resistance and assist with belt tracking and belt cleaning by allowing belt flexion over CPS’s custom profile roller ring geometry. Not affected by belt fasteners, these are also suitable for reversing belts and can fit into existing return brackets.
Less Roller Failure Means Less Down-time
CPS conveyor rollers’ low friction triple labyrinth seal protects the SKF bearing from dirt and contaminant
ingress.
Together with the non-rotational flinger as an outer guard (which minimises rock jams), these two technologies combine to keep your rollers working for longer and minimising roller failures which are often a problem with older traditional rollers.
