Belt Recoverability for Mine Sustainability
In today's mining landscape, clients are increasingly driven to refurbish conveyor belts not just by preference, but by necessity. This shift is rooted in a combination of financial constraints, operational pressures, and sustainability imperatives...
ArmorShield in Lithium Processing
The customer experienced severe belt rips up to 80m long, leading to extended shutdowns and lost production. There was considerable pressure to fix this issue before it could further impact production and revenue for the operation, so they came to Fenner...
UsFlex Optimising Performance in ROM
The belting in an open-pit coal mine was holding an average life of 23 months (sometimes as little as 15), with regular and ongoing repairs from as little as 6 months from installation. The site needed a solution for both tear and high impact resistance...
Fenner Conveyors
Fenner Conveyors is the commercial brand represented by all field service personnel across Australia. This encompasses all our conveyor maintenance, belt splicing and change-outs, pulley overhaul and refurbishment, and diagnostic services.
World-Class Overland Conveyor System in Energy Efficiency
Fenner Conveyors and CPS were both contracted to delivery components for a 26km overland conveyor for the BHP South Flank project, one of the largest iron ore operations in the world. Through this unique combination of idler frames, composite roller technology, and low-rolling resistant conveyor belting, both businesses succesfully delivered one of the most advanced, reliable and cost-efficient overland conveyors in the world.
Engineered Conveyor Solutions
Fenner Conveyors delivered specialised components for a complete conveyor belt changeout to address extensive production loss due to repeated belt failure. These included a Belle Banne-designed sacrificial base, as well as ACE-designed hold-down roller frames and pulley structures. By combining specialisations from across our brand portfolio, we were able to produce stellar results for the client.
Innovative Conveyor Solutions for Enhanced Efficiency and Safety
In the dynamic realm of coal mining, where operational efficiency and worker safety hold paramount importance, embracing cutting-edge technologies is a necessity. The collaboration between Fenner Conveyors and Conveyor Products and Solutions (CPS) for a major coal mining client in Central Queensland, demonstrated both businesses’ ability to enhance productivity while fostering safer and more sustainable site operations.
ACE
ACE offer complete solutions in the design, supply and installation of conveyor systems, with the expertise to take projects from initial concepts to commissioned conveyors. ACE specialise in both mechanical and electrical engineering, with operations in Mackay, Brisbane and Somserby.
Delivering Aquila's Turnkey Overland Conveyor
In 2020, Fenner Conveyors and ACE were contracted to deliver an overland conveyor system for Anglo American’s Aquila project. The Australian Bulk Handling Review spoke to Brendon Harms, Regional Manager of ACE Queensland to find out how the project has progressed.
Commissioning Completed on Maxwell 9km Overland Conveyor
In collaboration with the wider Fenner Conveyors portfolio, Australian Conveyor Engineering (ACE) has succesfully completed commissioning on the Maxwell Overland Conveyor, a massive 9km conveyor built across 97,672 injury free hours of work from teams across Fenner.
Engineering Triumph at a Queensland Mine
In collaboration with the wider Fenner Conveyors portfolio, ACE Engineering has succesfully completed the replacement of a critical truss system. The client was facing severe challenges caused by ground movement and instability in the civil foundations beneath the conveyor.
CPS
CPS are industry-leading in innovative conveyor manufacturing technology, particularly their composite conveyor roller solutions. From the beginning, CPS have been committed to changing the bulk materials handling market, introducing the first polymer roller to the Australian market.
CPS ships products globally, successfully fulfilling all client and partner requirements - big or small.
Secondary Crushing Maintenance Safety and Roll Reliability
In 2024, a well-known copper mining client shared with CPS their need to reduce return roller weight to increase maintenance personnel safety when working on the conveyor belts of the fine crushing circuit.
Expedited Delivery on Critical Tension Conveyor Pulley
Faced with a shortened deadline for a pulley with a custom bearing housing, CPS pivoted, brought the housing fabrication in house and turned around the full build in 6.5 weeks
26km of Overland Conveyor Delivered on Time and In Budget
CPS designed and manufactured BHP’s South Flank overland conveyor (OLC) idler systems. With a combination of high-tolerance idler frames and composite roller technology, CPS has delivered one of the most advanced, reliable, and cost-efficient overland conveyors in the world.

Largest BeltGauge Installation To Date: A Milestone in Conveyor Health Monitoring
Earlier this year, Fenner Conveyors undertook its largest implementation of BeltGauge wear monitoring to-date at an Iron Ore operation in Western Australia. The ambitious project involved the simultaneous deployment of five Mobile BeltGauge units for monitoring across several critical conveyor lines.
DigitalHub in Iron Ore Mining
DigitalHub is Fenner Conveyors’ cloud-based monitoring platform that centralises inspection data and conveyor performance insights in real time. For the client, it streamlined over 400 monthly inspections into one 24/7 accessible system, enabling teams to identify and address more than 300 damage events efficiently.
BeltGauge - Tracking Wear Over Time so that an Accurate Belt Life Prediction can be made
Our client is among the largest producers of iron ore in the world – with their mine in the Pilbara, Western Australia, producing 80 million tonnes a year.
Belle Banne
Belle Banne Belt Handling Equipment (formerly Belle Banne Conveyors) hold the top position nationally for high-quality, specialised equipment for conveyor belt installations and change-outs. This brand's reputation is renowned for developing the procedures and equipment for the largest overlanders and drift belts throughout Australia, Indonesia, Africa and are growing in the Latin America region.
How Pre-Splicing Longer Yard Belts Helped Reduce Shut-Down Times by 50%
Belle Banne helped a Pilbara Iron Ore customer cut shutdown times by pre-splicing longer yard belts using its original Flaking System. This allowed on-site teams to focus on closing splices, significantly reducing downtime. This led the site to standardise belt change-out equipment and adopt Belle Banne’s method.
Improved Inclined Belt Safety with Hydraulic Clamping System
To address safety risks from heavy loads on inclined belts, Belle Banne developed a hydraulic belt clamping system for an underground gold mine. Rated to 35 tonnes—the load from the largest incline lifting ore 1,500m across five flights—the system enabled safe installation during construction and ongoing maintenance.
Innovative Wharf Belt Replacement Massively Improves Safety
The change-out of this unique conveyor system has strict safety and operational requirements to mitigate potential risks. Traditionally, this has required the use of smaller reels with six splices, increasing manual handling exposure, or alternatively deployment of a jack-up barge for full-length reels.
